My first impression after reading this book is 'yeah... right!'. You see, I happen to know this cat personally (he is my half brother), and my suspicion is that since he wrote it himself, was able to include a lot of embellishment, and to hide the fact he is always getting in trouble. The problem is, he is a lot more like Tony Stark than Clark Kent. He does save the day, but only in spite of himself. I know from personal experience that he is only interested in doing good if there is something in it for him, which doesn't really come across in this slanted depiction of himself. Don't let this book fool you - he really is a 'Super Kitty', but he is no angel...Product details

What an absolutely delightful book! Sam, the Superkitty is the imaginative story of a little cat who becomes a "Superkitty" whenever his family is in danger. Based on a once-feral cat that she rescued, author Marion Lovato creates a sweet and simple story that both young and old will enjoy! The delightful illustrations only add to the appeal of the story.
This is a delightful 5 part story about a kitten who keeps his family safe. The black and white illustrations add appropriately to the story as Sam's parents slowly reveal the items that Sam believes are endangering them all. A good story to read to young children showing the pages - kids will be impressed by the spider, I'm sure.
Sam, the Superkiity is a great little five part story about a cute little kitten that goes on superhero adventures at night. Unbeknown to the family, Superkitty fends of creepy creatures and monsters for them in order to keep them safe.
The writing style is highly appealing and very easy to read. It is thoroughly enjoyable and a great way to engage young children in using their imaginations.

Sam, the Suoerkitty is an engaging story book for children. Sam's adventures begin at night when the whole world goes to sleep. In the guile of a super hero he pretends to protect the family from all kinds of animals that may creep into the house at night. Be it a spider or a dog, he will attack it with all his might. Although nothing strikes quite out of the ordinary, this visually satisfying book nevertheless, is imaginative and stimulating.
Sam the Superkitty lives two lives. One as a sweet, cute little ball of fluff - the other as a noble and fearless superhero who saves his family from danger time and time again. The book is divided into two parts. The first part is a narrative of Sam's adventures, and the second part is those same adventures in verse.
Love the illustrations - completely charming. They focus on the superkitty, of course, and show some of the cutest expressions.
The story made me smile. I could imagine reading it to a small child. Both children and adults will enjoy this one!
This is a great little story to read to children and is particularly fun for children who have a cat in the home and love them. It stretches the imagination and yet is believable. It is suspenseful without being too scary for a child. I particularly liked the illustrations and found the story fun to read myself as an adult reading to a child--something I always look for in a children's book since in our house children's books have always ended up getting read over and over to the child upon their request. Sam, the Superkitty is a welcome addition to any child's library.

"Samy, the Superkitty" has beautiful art and a wonderful little story that everyone who loves cats can identify with. I bought a copy for myself and a second one for my grand-daughter. I loved working with Marion Lovato, the author. I hope Lovato has some more adventure stories about Sam or other creative, adorable characters to share with the world!
