To be honest, I didn't know how I would like this book in the Annie Graceland Mystery Series because of it being written in a diary format, but the author managed to pull it off in a really fun way. The story moves along at a fast pace, going from Annie's viewpoint, to those of her friends, to her ghostly nemesis, Dr. Derrick Fuller (who won't leave her alone), to her old boyfriend, Mack, who shows up in town and manages to get himself killed and is harassing her in death, as he did in life. Her mother even chimes in later in the book. You get more of an inside look at what makes them all tick because of the way the story is written.There is enough interaction between the characters within the diary entries to seem more like a story rather than just monologue entries in a diary. The story is fun and the murderer of Mack is a total surprise!
Don't let the diary format keep you from reading and enjoying CUPCAKES, DIARIES, AND ROTTEN INQUIRIES, the 6th installment in the Annie Graceland Mystery Series. There are also numerous yummy recipes scattered throughout the book. Really fun ~ all the way around....

I have read five of the books in the Annie Graceland Cozy Mysteries series. Every one of these books are good reads. I love a book that keeps you interested and tells a story too. If you're looking for a nice, funny mystery series, these are the books for you! Can't wait to read book 6!
I enjoyed it. I was looking for a fluff novel and this fit the bill. I liked these characters so well I read all of them in the series. Good choice if you want to read without thinking and would like a laugh.
I am having a hard time finishing this book. Usually if I like a book I have a hard time putting it down. This book is about each person writing in a journal instead of talking to each other and I don't really care for that concept in reading a book. I want a story not a reading in a journal. The story I think would have been better if they would have kept the journals out of it.
The Best Annie Graceland yet! Loved this book! You've got Annie Graceland yet again solving another mystery but what a fun read this one is! One former ex boyfriend along with her buddies and some new characters too Um I really liked Pinky a lot ! And don't forget Derrick he's back too! I have to say I think this is my favorite yet! And as always some really yummy recipes are included! I think I am going to try that banana pudding recipe its quite tempting Especially for a non cupcake gal like me! All I can say thank you again for the fun Pamela! )
I had a ball reading this fast paced, joyous and frothy murder confection. Murder and joyous may seem like an oxymoron, but it’s delivered in this story through the author’s deft handling of both humor and intrigue. The heroine, Annie, is plucky, has great friends and a hot boyfriend. There is just one problem. Ghosts like to take up residence in her apartment. This time the ghost is Mack, a guy you’ll love to hate. He is an X-football player turned car salesman who is completely obnoxious. But for some reason, Annie’s cat likes him more than her. So not fair! Annie and her friends must solve Mack’s murder and get him out of her apartment before Annie’s mom arrives for Thanksgiving. A lot of fun, banter and good old fashion gumshoe detecting keeps this book moving at a brisk pace. Without giving anything away, I can tell you what happened in the end . . . I had great time reading this fun book!
My favorite Cupcakes book yet!!! Annie accepts a friend request from an old beau that has made a name for himself in previously owned vehicles. She soon finds him parked on her sofa after he is murdered at a convention in La where he won an award for his sales. Annie and her friends find themselves working to solve his murder before Annie's mother arrives for Thanksgiving. The story is written as diary entries made by Annie and her friends, as well as the victim, and Derrick Fuller (Annie's original ghost that has yet to go to the light) who is still dressed in nothing but the thong he was murdered in. The identity of the murderer was a mystery to me until Pamela Dumond revealed it in the story!!! I hated to finish the book as I now have to wait for the next book to be published!! If you haven't tried the Annie Graceland books I highly recommend them!! I'd give them a 10 if I could!!!!
While this book is listed as #6 in the Annie Graceland series, I think it is actually book #5 (although it doesn't really matter, except to say they are all worth reading!) This book is written from many different points of view through diary entries. As the book description states Annie is empathic & can see ghosts. This time she is "haunted" by her former college boyfriend, Mack "The Man" McManus who talks about himself in third person. She also continues to be haunted by the ghost of Dr. Derrick Fuller (who is seen by her in a silver Puccini thong!) Stir in humor, murder, romance, & a different style of story telling & you have a very enjoyable, worth the time & money book. If you haven't read the other 4 books do yourself a favor & read those first! Also, there are some pretty delicious sounding recipes that appear worth trying. ******SPOILER******* really loved Annie's mom's diary entry at the end. Sentimental, sweet, & so true!
